Govt school gets a facelift, courtesy CSR initiative

LUDHIANA: With an aim to strengthen the infrastructure of educational institutions, especially government schools, the Vardhman group, laid the foundation stone of Vardhman Block at Government Senior Secondary School, Ladhowal.

With an aim to strengthen the infrastructure of educational institutions, especially government schools, the Vardhman group, laid the foundation stone of Vardhman Block at Government Senior Secondary School, Ladhowal.

The group, under its CSR initiative, has extended a helping hand to the school.

This is the sixth school in Ludhiana which will be adorned with a well-equipped building by the Group.

Vardhman Block, comprising 12 classrooms, two staff-rooms and separate toilets for girls and boys will be constructed on the school premises at an estimated cost of Rs2 crore. During a ceremony held on the school premises, Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, and SP Oswal, chairman and managing director, Vardhman Group, laid the foundation stone on Saturday.

Swaranjit Kaur, District Education Officer, Ludhiana, was also present during the ceremony besides the village sarpanch and members of the school management committee. The principals of other government schools, including Government High School, Lohara; Government Senior Secondary School, Kasabad; Government High School, Giaspura; and Government Senior Secondary School, Sekhewal, also came to personally thank SP Oswal, as these were given a facelift too.
