Ludhiana: Celebrating festivals help to make our social bonds stronger and adds joys to our lives. Gurpurb was celebrated at DCM Presidency school with great fervour. A special assembly was presented by the students of class VI Carnation,wherein they talked about the life history of Shri Guru Ram Das Ji and inspired the students to learn from his teachings. He had composed 638 hymns, or about ten percent of hymns in the Guru Granth Sahib and was a celebrated poet. He composed his work in 30 ancient ragas of Indian classical music. The hymns written by him are sung till date in the praise of the almighty. The students recited the holy 'Shabad' and doubled the gaiety and sanctity of the occasion.

Bhajan competition held 

BCM School, Sector 32, organised with zeal Shashi Ahuja Memorial Inter-school Vedic Bhajan Competition in collaboration with Ved Prachar Mandal. Dr Khushwinder Kumar, Principal MM Modi College, Patiala presided over the event.

Skating tourney organised

Manav Rachna International School organised the 1st Open Inter-school Roller Skating Championship at Leisure Valley Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana. More than 150 young skaters between the age bracket of 4-10 years from the prominent schools of Ludhiana competed with each other in Quad and Inline 100m and 1000m respectively. Dr Rupali Saini, Principal, Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana motivated the students to keep their spirit high and encouraged them to compete enthusiastically.

Athletics Day celebrated

Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School BRS Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated its Annual Athletic Day with fervour. Dr RS Chhina was accorded a cordial welcome by Director Rev Father John, Principal Rev Sr Silvi, sports instructors, section coordinators with exhilarating rhythm of school band followed by Guard of Honour. The athletic day initiated with the prayer dance seeking blessings of the Almighty.
