KVM girls clinch badminton trophy

LUDHIANA: The girl students of Kundan Vidya Mandir (KVM), Civil Lines, won two titles, while Green Land Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar bypass, clinched one title in the Punjab School Zonal Badminton Competition held at Shastri Hall near Guru Nanak Stadium here on Friday.

The girl students of Kundan Vidya Mandir (KVM), Civil Lines, won two titles, while Green Land Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar bypass, clinched one title in the Punjab School Zonal Badminton Competition held at Shastri Hall near Guru Nanak Stadium here on Friday.

KVM boys bagged two titles on Wednesday. KVM girls came out overall champions in the U-17 and U-19 categories, whereas Green Land School won in the U-14 section.

In the U-19 category, KVM scripted 2-0 win over Green Land Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar bypass, 2-0 to annex the title and BCM Senior Secondary School, Sector 32 branch, secured the third position.

KVM girls registered an identical victory (2-0) over Delhi Public School to bag the overall championship in the U-17 category, while Green Land Senior Secondary School, Sector 32 branch, finished at third place.

However, in the U-14 section, Green Land Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar bypass, got better of Kundan Vidya Mandir (2-0) to lift the winners’ trophy. The third position was bagged by Delhi Public School.

Navita Puri, Principal, KVM, congratulated the students and the badminton coach, Sandeep Singh Saini, on this outstanding achievement.
