Ludhiana: Harmanjot Kaur, student of Kalgidhar Academy Senior Secondary School, Dugri, has brought laurels to the school by securing first position in the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex English debate competition, held at Garden Valley School, Machhiwara.

Ludhiana: Harmanjot Kaur, student of Kalgidhar Academy Senior Secondary School, Dugri, has  brought laurels to the school by securing first position in the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex English debate competition, held at Garden Valley School, Machhiwara. A total of 36 participants from schools across the city participated and expressed their views “Is educational qualification necessary for ministerial post?”

Princess Diana remembered 

Students of Green Grove remembered the Princess of Wales Lady Diana who passed on August 31, 1997. Students of Class IX presented a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the humanitarian approach of Lady Diana.

Dhol beats mark Ganesh Utsav 

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated at Clay School. The celebrations started with rhythmic dhol beats being echoed on the premises. Kids came dressed up in white traditional kurta pyjamas. The festivities ended with a small Ganesha idol gifted to every student.

Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, fervently celebrated Ganesha Chaturathi by reciting aartis and bhajans. They drew colourful flower rangolis and drawings to welcome Lord Ganesha on the school campus.

Home Alone Movie Screening 

A screening of Home Alone was held for students of Class IV of Sat Paul Mittal School during their form assembly.

Plantation drive held

The Smart City Connect Forum of Ludhiana Management Association (LMA) planted saplings on the campus of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park. As many as 50 saplings were planted under the third phase of the plantation drive of the LMA in association with NSPS, Gil Park. Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich said during the first phase, the forum planted 450 saplings along with BCM School, Shastri Nagar, and in the second phase, as many as 200 saplings were planted at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital.

Cooking without fire activity

To celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, DCM Presidency School, elementary campus, organised a flameless cooking activity for students of nursery to UKG. They made coconut ladoos. The activity was an amalgamation of knowledge and entertainment to aware children about theh importance of conserving energy.

Students take part in talent hunt 

Students of Class III to V of Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, showcased their hidden talents at an event, Independent Notions, organised on school campus. Competitions such as dance, music, fancy dress, acting, poem recitation, clay modeling, cooking without fire and flower arrangement were organised. 

Green Land lifts volleyball trophy

The volleyball players of Green Land Convent School, Sector-32, Chandigarh Road, have brought laurels to the school by clinching third position in the Punjab zonal tournament held at Government Senior Secondary School, Govind Nagar. As many as 38 teams from schools across Ludhiana participated.

Swachhta Awareness Day organised

Imbibing in its students a true sense of good hygiene, BhartiyaVidyaMandir, Kitchlu Nagar, observed a ‘Swachhta Awareness Day’. Students conducted a cleanliness drive around the campus and were told the importance of cleanliness.

Green Grove Lift Martial Arts Trophy

Students of Green Grove have brought laurels to the college by bagging 11 gold, seven silver and 14 bronze medals at a state-level karate championship. Principal Suzy George felicitated the winner team and teacher in-charge Pardeep and Karamjit. TNS
