Ministers remember Mahatma Gandhi, say he is inspiration

LUDHIANA: A state-level function on the occasion of ‘Satyagrah Diwas’ was organised today at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan in which Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was the chief guest, while Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu was the guest of honour.

Ludhiana, June 7

A state-level function on the occasion of ‘Satyagrah Diwas’ was organised today at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan in which Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was the chief guest, while Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu was the guest of honour.

On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the Punjab government has been organising several functions throughout the year.

While addressing the gathering on the occasion, Ashu urged everyone to follow the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi. He said Mahatma Gandhi used non-cooperation as the political weapon against the British Raj successfully. The minister said the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi would continue to inspire the people and would help the masses to contribute for the society’s development.

MP Ravneet Singh Bittu said that it was because of Mahatma Gandhi and our other freedom fighters that we are breathing in free India. He said that Mahatma Gandhi had contributed for the freedom of the country and his life and philosophy also played an important role in bringing reforms in the society and one shouold follow his path.
