The staff of government schools, who fail to attend the morning assembly, will now be taken for a ride.

After it was observed that teachers and other employees of the school remained absent from the morning assembly, Charanjeet Singh, Deputy District Education Officer (DEO), has issued a notice to all school heads of the district, asking them to make sure that all teachers and other staff members attend the morning assembly daily.

Deputy DEO said: “It has come to the notice that many teachers and other staff failed to attend the morning assembly, which is a serious issue. School heads should make sure that class teachers take their respective classes to the morning assembly and come back to the classes with their students after the assembly is over.”

The notice further mentions that in case any teacher was not an in-charge of any class, or in the case of other employees, it will be the duty of the school head to fix their duties and inform them where they would be standing in the morning assembly or what duty they would be performing during the assembly.

The Education Department will be forced to take disciplinary action against those who will not cooperate with school heads in this regard. A government school teacher said during summers the attendance in the assembly generally became fell due to scorching heat.
