PAU, college students attend yoga sessions

LUDHIANA:The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) celebrated International Yoga Day on the campus today.

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) celebrated International Yoga Day on the campus today. Students and faculty of the University performed different yoga asanas. 

   The Directorate of Students’ Welfare, PAU, apprised the student and teaching fraternity of the benefits of yoga in keeping the mind and the body stress free. The International Yoga Day was celebrated under the guidance of Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU.

Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, emphasised on practicing yoga for healthy mind and body. A practical session on practices of yogic asanas was conducted. The whole staff of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare was also present on the occasion.

Partap College of Education

Students, parents and grandparents, and staff of the Partap College of Education, Ludhiana, participated in various activities to mark the International Day of Yoga. The college campus was abuzz with activity with students pouring in cheerfully and their beaming faces telling tales of their pursuing yoga asanas as part of their daily routine.

Dr Balwant Singh, Principal, Partap College of Education, congratulated the students for their active involvement in making this event a success.

Khalsa College for Women

At the Khalsa College for Women, 1,003 cadets from 14 different institutions gathered on the college ground early morning to perform the yoga asanas. College Principal Mukti Gill, cadets and staff members performed various asanas on the college ground to spread awareness on the philosophy of yoga among youths.

BCM College of Education

At the BCM College of Education, all participants, including NSS volunteers, enthusiastically practiced different asanas. The Principal and staff emphasised the significance of yoga and meditation and motivated the students to adopt the same in their daily life to stay fit and healthy.
