Two booked for not giving tenants’ details

LUDHIANA: The police have started booking owners who have not informed the respective stations about their tenants.

Ludhiana, August 14

The police have started booking owners who have not informed the respective stations about their tenants.

The ADCP of Zone 3, Surendra Lamba, said a campaign of tenant verification was under way. Landlords have to get their tenants’ details verified to prevent any antisocial element from taking refuge in the city. He said strict action would be taken against those who didn’t comply with the orders.

The Division No. 7 police booked a resident of Tajpur Road, Hari Ram, for not informing the police about his tenants staying in five rooms at the EWS colony. He has been booked under Section 188 (disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC. Banarsi Shah was also booked for a similar offence. TNS
