Will work to improve health, education: API candidate

A jobless man is also contesting election for the Ludhiana parliamentary seat. Dildar Singh (35) of Ambedkarite Party of India (API) claimed to have left the job of a teacher as he was being paid only Rs 2,000 per month.

According to his nomination papers, he has studied MA in political science and has done BEd with Punjabi.

Improved health services, better education system and early redressal of local issues are on his agenda. He blamed the successive governments for failing to ensure redressal of problems being faced by the common people.

“I am unemployed as I have no job now. Even after pursuing double MA and BEd, I got a job for a meager Rs 2,000. But, I was forced to leave the job. Now, I am unemployed. I want to question that is it possible to meet daily needs with Rs 2,000. I want to bring a change in the system as we all are suffering,” he said.

As he lacks resources for campaign, he is focusing on social media to reach out to voters to express his views.

“The governments have failed to find a solution to the highly polluted Buddha Nullah. The people are suffering due to polluted water. Our governments have never paid attention to the common problems being faced by people. The youth are unemployed while there is no relief from corruption,” he said.

Dildar Singh added the political parties were giving designations to the youth in the parties for their own interests to get votes, but nobody was serious on addressing issues of the youth.

“Various areas have been flooded with political posters while roadshows are being organised just to trouble people. There are many other ways to campaign. I run my campaign on social media,” he said.

He appealed to the voters to support him in the elections and make him their voice in Parliament. He assured them of fulfilling their demandsas he himself had faced the ground reality. Singh is still unmarried and asked how could he meet daily needs of family if he has no job?
