Ludhiana, December 4

A woman alleging sexual harassment got a case registered against her landlord and his family members with the intervention of the court.

Those booked have been identified as Gyan Chand, his son Deepak Kumar, wife Gyatri Devi and daughter Chaya, residents of Nanaksar Mohalla, Shimlapuri.

Woman had initially filed a complaint with the Daba police. However, when the police failed to initiate any action against the accused she approached the court.

The Shimlapuri police have registered a case under Sections 452, 323, 354A, 354, 506 of the IPC.

Recently, the Ludhiana Commissionerate had changed the limits of the police stations. As a result, Nanaksar Mohalla, which was earlier under the jurisdiction of the Daba police, now comes under the Shimlapuri police station.

The cops said the woman lived in a rented accommodation and had levelled allegations of sexual assault and attack on her landlord. As the police did not acted on her complaint, she approached the court and filed the application under Section 156(3) of the CrPC.
