Ludhiana: The Daresi police nabbed two persons on the charge of attacking a police party. They have been identified as Raj Rani and Sunny, both residents of Madhopuri, Sundar Nagar. The complainant, Head Constable Rajinder Singh said on July 17, he, along with HC Darshan Kumar, was patrolling an area along Buddha Nullah when they noticed a scooterist carrying a case of liquor. They started chasing him. The scooterist stopped outside a house. He kept the liquor case there and escaped. In the meantime, a woman came out of the house and took that liquor case along. “When we asked the woman about the liquor case, she attacked us. She also tore off our uniform and tossed our turbans. Later, police force from the Daresi stationed reached there and seized the illicit liquor. The woman also damaged the PCR motorcycle,” he alleged. TNS
