Father chops off girl’s hand

Hyderabad, September 20

A man allegedly chopped off the right hand of her daughter for marrying out of caste. 

The attack, which was carried out with the intention of killing the woman, took place on the Erragadda main road in Hyderabad yesterday evening in full public view. The man was identified as Manohar Chary, a goldsmith. 

The condition of the victim remains critical after a 10-hour-long surgery at the local Yashoda Hospital. Her husband B Sandeep (21) escaped the attack. 

The couple had married against the wishes of her parents at a local temple. The boy is a Dalit, while the girl belongs to the BC community. 

The incident was captured on the CCTV installed at a car dealer’s shop. — TNS
