Hawala trader held with unaccounted currency

JAIPUR: A man allegedly involved in hawala trade was on Tuesday held with unaccounted currency of different countries at the airport here.



Jaipur, July 17

A man allegedly involved in hawala trade was on Tuesday held with unaccounted currency of different countries at the airport here.

Following a tip-off, a team of Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) caught Anil Jain and recovered currencies of Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.

“Cumulative value of the foreign currency in Indian rupees is around 46 lakh. The currencies are unaccounted and he has been handed over to custom officials at the airport,” Additional Director General, ATS, Umesh Mishra, told PTI.

He said the accused is involved in hawala trade. PTI
