Former minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Jaidutta Kshirsagar today resigned from his seat in the state legislature following differences with party leaders. He joined the Shiv Sena.

Announcing his resignation from the Maharashtra Assembly, Kshirsagar said he was upset at being sidelined by the party leadership. The NCP had made Dhananjay Munde the party’s incharge of Beed district from where Kshirsagar hailed.

The former minister was in the cross hairs of the NCP leadership after he campaigned for Munde’s estranged cousin and sitting BJP MP Pritam. However, Kshirsagar did not join the BJP following differences with the party leadership and has decided to join Shiv Sena, sources said.
