Rajasthan Chief Minister suspends nine officials for dereliction of duty

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has suspended nine officers and given a chargesheet to three others for dereliction of duty, after a video conference with district collectors on Thursday evening.

The Chief Minister was unhappy with the performance of various districts as far as the public delivery system of various schemes was concerned, a CMO official said in a statement late last night. The districts included Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Pali, Jalore, Karauli, Bharatpur Dausa and Ajmer.

The officers suspended include two of the State Administrative Services (RAS).

On the directions of CM after the video conference, the DOP has served the suspension letters to RAS officers Suresh Kumar Bunkar and Jaisingh along with seven other employees including Buvneshwar, Ashok Kumar Vishnoi, Raphal Sharma, Satynaryan Kachwaha, Vikram Singh for laxity in disposing of complaints received through Jan Sampark Portal.

Kartar Singh of Jalore, Dilip Kumar and Kailash Prasad Meena (both of Ajmer) were served separate chargesheet.

Expressing concern over 4.75 lakh cases pending in revenue courts, the CM directed that cases older than 10 years must be disposed of in 3 months, cases older than 5 years in 6 months, and cases older than 3 years should be cleared in 12 months.

Gehlot also ordered the officials to remove the compulsion of personal appearance of a beneficiary before an officer to get benefits of social security pension schemes.

District Collectors and senior officers were asked to be present during Jan Sunvai being conducted by the minister-in-charge in their constituencies.

The CM said the collectors are the face of the government in the districts and should work with sensitivity and with the intention of ensuring good governance.
