JAIPUR: A criminal case was lodged against a shop owner for selling shoes in a carton box which had the Indian Tricolour printed on it at the City Mall in Kota.

Jaipur, May 29

A criminal case was lodged against a shop owner for selling shoes in a carton box which had the Indian Tricolour printed on it at the City Mall in Kota. 

Kranti Tiwari, an NGO activist, filed an FIR with the Vigyan Nagar police station against shop owner Mahesh under Sections of Prevention of Insults to National Tricolour Act, 1971 on Sunday. 

On initial investigation, the shopkeeper told the police that he had bought the china made shoe with the carton box from Delhi. The complainant is state president of Social Justice and Empowerment Cell in Kota.
