Why Rahul, Kejri silent, asks BJP

NEW DELHI:The BJP today hailed the arrest of JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar and questioned the Congress, AAP and JD-U silence on the issue.

 New Delhi, February 12

The BJP today hailed the arrest of JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar and questioned the Congress, AAP and JD-U silence on the issue.

Significantly, while questioning the “silence of Congress and associates and the award wapsi brigade” over the JNU episode, the party is also, though in somewhat restrained manner, raising questions on the “limit” or the extent to which the terminology freedom of expression can be exploited.

“Our brave soldiers are sacrificing their lives at the border and anti-India slogans are being raised in an institution like JNU and terrorists being hailed as martyrs. “BJP welcomes the arrest and hopes that action will be taken against other accused too. This (the JNU incident) is a worrying trend. There is a limit to everything,” BJP leader  Shrikant Sharma said.

The saffron party also questioned the silence of “Congress vice-president Raul Gandhi” and Opposition leaders — Delhi Chief Ministers Arvind Kejriwal and his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar — accusing them of doing politics over terrorism and Maoism in the name of freedom of expression. — TNS
