CHANDIGARH: As part of celebrations of 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, Dera Baba Nanak Utsav would be held from November 8-11 keeping in view the large number of devotees anticipated for having darshan of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

As part of celebrations of 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, Dera Baba Nanak Utsav would be held from November 8-11 keeping in view the large number of devotees anticipated for having darshan of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

During the utsav, ragi darbar, shabad kirtan, dhadhi/vaars, poetry and literary fest, along with kaveshri would also be organised. The focus of all functions would be on the teachings as well as the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev and the life, udasis (missionary travels) and sakhis of the Guru would be showcased through exhibitions.

This was disclosed today by Cooperation and Jails Minister Sukhjiinder Singh Randhawa after presiding over a high-level meeting convened to take stock of the preparations with regard to the utsav.

The meeting saw the officers from all departments and various Sikh intellectuals who assured the minister that preparations would be completed by the last week of October. The minister also launched official website and Facebook, Twitter, Instagram platforms in connection with the utsav.
