Judicial Magistrate Jagjit Singh today adjourned the defamation case filed by former minister Bikram Majithia against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh until August 23.

No orders were pronounced on the application seeking the court’s permission to summon drug peddlers Jagdish Bhola’s case record lying with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to confront Bikram Majithia.

The lawyers of the AAP leader want to ask questions to Bikram Majithia from the drugs case file lying with the Enforcement Directorate.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Singh appeared before the court. Majithia had already got permanent exemption from personal appearance.

Majithia had filed a defamation case against the AAP leader for leveling allegations of backing drug trade in the state in 2016.

In its complaint, Majithia had alleged that Sanjay Singh made a false and defamatory statement against him in a rally at Moga on September 9, 2015.
