Four arrested in rape cases

ABOHAR: Four persons have been arrested in connection with three rape cases.

Four persons have been arrested in connection with three rape cases.

Vinod Kumar of Abohar and Inderjit Singh of Border Road, Fazilka, have been arrested in connection with a case registered on November 27 under Sections 376D and 506 of the IPC here. A 35-year-old widow had alleged that when she was waiting for a bus at the Abohar bus stand, two persons offered her lift in a car, claiming that they were also going to Jalalabad.

The duo allegedly served some laced drink to her on the way, and later raped her. Next morning, they dropped her near the bus stand and fled.

In another case, a police team nabbed Vishal Kumar (20) of Chak 8NN village from Amritsar and recovered a 14-year girl whom he had allegedly kidnapped from Sriganganagar on August 15. The girl was medically examined at Civil Hospital in Sriganganagar today and restored to her parents. A case has been registered under Section 376 of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against Vishal.

Another team of the Sriganganagar police today arrested Vikas Valmiki (23) of Chak-Z village as a minor girl (15) alleged that he took her to a relative’s house in Purani Abadi under some pretext and raped her. He was booked under Section 376 of the IPC.
