The campaign of Amar Singh, Congress candidate from Fatehgarh Sahib parliamentary constituency, got a boost as the panchayat of the biggest village in the constituency, Bras, joined the party in the presence of Subhash Sood, president, District Congress Committee, by deserting SAD.

Village sarpanch Rajni Sood said they were satisfied with the policies of the Capt Amarinder Singh government and were happy with the development works initiated by Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra, so they unanimously decided to join the Congress and will campaign for Amar Singh.

Bras is the biggest village of the constituency and had always been a stronghold of the SAD. Even during the panchayat elections, the village panchayat had defeated the Congress candidates.

Sood welcomed them into the party fold and assured them that they would be given due respect and responsibility in the party.
