SAD leader Valtoha faces public wrath

Former SAD MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha had to face public wrath during his address on the death anniversary of Sukhdev Singh Babbar of the Babbar Khalsa International at Dasuwal village here on Sunday. A video of it has gone viral on social media.

The gathering was organised by the slain leader’s family in which radicals sought freedom for Sikhs.

Valtoha talked about his association with Babbar. When he spoke on opening an old murder case of Patti-based surgeon Dr Sudarshan Trehan, who was shot on November 15, 1984, the organisers switched off the public address system and Valtoha was made to sit.

Prof Baljinder Singh, leader of five-member committee formed by parallel Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara, said the organisers had clarified that speakers would only talk about interests of the Sikh community and their struggle. — OC
