Train tragedy: Rly probe begins today

AMRITSAR: Commissioner of Railway Safety, Northern Circle, SK Pathak will begin an inquiry into the Amritsar train tragedy on Sunday.

Commissioner of Railway Safety, Northern Circle, SK Pathak will begin an inquiry into the Amritsar train tragedy on Sunday.

Pathak said any information from any person related to the accident could be conveyed either personally or in writing at Conference Hall, Northern Railway Mechanical Workshop, Amritsar, in the next two days (Sunday and Monday).

The inquiry was ordered by the Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal on Friday after a demand was made by Lok Sabha member from Amritsar Gurjit Singh Aujla. In a statement here on Saturday, Aujla appealed to residents and officials to record their statements before railway officials.
