Restore old pension scheme: Mandi assn

MANDI: The New Pension Scheme Employees Association is demanding restoration of the old pension scheme.

Mandi, February 10

The New Pension Scheme Employees Association is demanding restoration of the old pension scheme.

Naresh Thakur, state president of the association, said: “We will organise a rally at Chaura Maidan in Shimla on February 15 to press for our demand. A large number of employees across the state will join the rally.”

“We will wait for the Chief Minister’s visit at Chaura Maidan. If he doesn’t come, the protesters will gherao the Vidhan Sabha the same day,” Naresh Thakur said.

The Chief Minister had assured the association of forming a committee, but that did not happen.

“Elected members of the Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha are entitled to pension even after serving for a short period, while employees, who dedicate their whole lives to the service, are being deprived of the same,” he added. — TNS
