The Punjab Leads!

SO says the "Mahratta," referring to the promptitude with which the Punjab Congress Committee acted lately by voting resolutely and without a dissentient voice in favour of Mrs. Besant's election for the presidentship of the next session of the Indian National Congress. The compliment is well deserved in view of the fact that other provinces have not been equally decisive and resolute in this matter, although in the result they also support the Punjab's decision. But the Punjab can and will lead the country in several other matters besides this if it only makes up its mind to act, but here our difficulty often is in coming to a decision on the questions. Take, for instance, the question of holding a special session of the Congress, about which most other provinces have already decided while one has succeeded in holding a splendid session. But herein the land of the Five Rivers we are still considering the question although it is entirely a question for action-not for consideration.
