LONDON: Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle's new home Frogmore Cottage, a 19th century cottage with an Indian connection on Windsor estate, cost the UK taxpayers a whopping 2.4 million pounds in refurbishment, according to annual royal accounts released on Tuesday. The couple's new home has an Indian connection as a royal gift to Abdul Karim by Queen Victoria, then Empress of India, as a sign of her affection for her Indian aide and confidant. PTI

Myanmar gay man posts bullying note on FB, ends life

Yangon: A 26-year-old gay Myanmar man posted a note on Facebook, including screenshots of alleged homophobic bullying, before committing suicide, prompting activists to call for more protection for the emerging LGBTQ community. Kyaw Zin Win ended his life after posting a final Facebook message to his family and friends, alongside a plea "not to be reborn in a country where superiors oppress those under them". AFP

Pakistani politician, scribe exchange blows on TV

Islamabad: A live news debate on a Pakistani news channel turned ugly after an argument between a politician and a journalist turned physical, shocking viewers across the country. Masroor Ali Siyal, a leader from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, and Karachi Press Club President Imtiaz Khan were among the panelists on the show “News Line with Aftab Mugheri”. In a video, Siyal gets up and violently pushes Khan from the chair. And then, in a fit of rage, he clutches Khan with his arms and apparently hurls blows at him. IANS
