Mudslide in PoK leaves seven dead

Muzaffarabad: A mudslide after heavy rains killed seven members of a single family, including five children, in Pakistani-occupied Kashmir. Police official Raja Zulqarnain said on Sunday that the seven died when their house collapsed the previous day in the village of Ajeera. The village lies near the Line of Control in the district of Rawla Kot. AP

Psychiatric patient kills four in Romania hospital

Bucharest: Four people have died and nine were injured after being attacked by a patient in a psychiatric hospital, Romanian press reports said on Sunday. A 38-year-old man, who had admitted himself to the hospital in Sapoca, northeast of the capital Bucharest, entered a treatment room and attacked other patients with a transfusion stand. Among the nine injured in the attack, two were in a coma, they added. AFP

French waiter shot dead over ‘slow service’ 

London: A waiter in a cafe near Paris was shot dead by a customer irate over delay in preparing the sandwich he had ordered, reports said on Sunday. The incident occurred in the Paris suburb of Noisy-le-Grand on Friday evening. Though medical aid arrived soon, the waiter succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The attacker fled the scene and is still to be apprehended. IANS

Three dead amid clash between fans of football clubs

New York: At least three people were killed and 10 injured in a clash between fans of rival football clubs in Honduras, reports said on Sunday. The violence in Tegucigalpa, the capital of the Central American country, broke out on Saturday evening ahead of a game between Motagua and Olimpia after stones were thrown on the Motagua team bus, injuring three players, the BBC reported. Plane crashes into New York house, kills two

Union Vale: A plane crashed into a New York home Sunday, killing one resident and one person on the aircraft and causing a massive fire, state police said. State police spokesman Steven Nevel said three men were on the plane. One died and two were injured. Of three people in the home, one died, another was seriously hurt and the third is missing. AP

Three Palestinians killed by Israeli troops

Gaza City: Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip, the Palestinian health ministry said Sunday, hours after three rockets were fired at Israel from the blockaded enclave. The ministry said another Palestinian was hospitalised in the shooting that came after the Israeli army said an attack helicopter and tank had fired at “armed suspects” along the barrier that separates Israel from Gaza.
