A Punjabi University student has been awarded Child Youngest Scientist Award of India by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for innovation of PBD robot, also known as a planted bomb deactivating system, in Lucknow.

Kanishka Sahu, a third year student at the Computer Science and Engineering Department in Punjabi University has invented a robot that defuses bombs without direct human interaction.

Previously, Sahu got first rank in Northern Indian Science Fair at the National Science Centre, New Delhi. He also got first rank at state-level science fair in Ghaziabad and was awarded by the director, Rajya Vigyan Shiksha Sansthan.

Punjabi University Vice-chancellor BS Ghuman congratulated Sahu and his department and gave a token of appreciation to him. He said university students should actively participate in research projects.
