Annual athletics meet held at Akal University

BATHINDA: Akal University organised its 3rd Annual Athletics meet on its campus at Talwandi Sabo in the district.

Akal University organised its 3rd Annual Athletics meet on its campus at Talwandi Sabo in the district. The two-day athletics meet started with a pledge of discipline and sportsmanship on the part of players.

Speaking on the last day of the meet, Dr Sandeep Singh, dean (Students Welfare), motivated the students to take part in games. He laid emphasis on the importance of physical work-out in students’ life.

Different indoor and outdoor games were organised for the students and the staff on both the days. This was followed by an award distribution ceremony for the winners of different positions in all the games. The meet concluded with the address of the vice-chancellor of the university, Prof Gurmail Singh, who urged the students to take their health seriously. — TNS
