Bathinda, February 24

The Central University of Punjab organised rangoli-making and best-out-of-waste contests, along with a special cultural exchange programme, here on February 23 and 24.

The activities were held under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme and part of the university’s 11th foundation day celebrations. More than 250 students from different departments participated in these activities.

More than 16 teams participated in the rangoli-making contest, which was held on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, unity in diversity, and patriotism themes. In the best-out-of-waste competitions, 11 teams exhibited their creativity. They made impressive home decor items, handbags, and accessories.

Students and faculty members of the university witnessed the rangoli artworks and availed the opportunity to purchase innovative products prepared from waste items.

On behalf of the organising team, Prof Monisha Dhiman said the participants impressed the judges and the audience with their creativity in these competitions.

She said the winners will be awarded during a cultural programme on February27.
