Chander Parkash on bar council’s disciplinary committee panel

Former State Information Commissioner (SIC) and veteran journalist Chander Parkash, who has been practicing as an advocate in Bathinda district and sessions court, has been co-opted as member of the disciplinary committee of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana.

As per information, he has been co-opted as member of disciplinary committee on the recommendation of Gurtej Singh Grewal, vice-chairman, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh.

Grewal handed over the appointment letter to Chander Parkash at a special function organised in the District Courts Complex here on Wednesday evening.

A large number of senior advocates, including DBA president Kanwaljit Singh Kutti, vice-president Sushan Sharma and secretary Kuljit Singh Jeeda among others attended the function.

Later addressing the gathering, Grewal said, “The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has introduced various welfare schemes for advocates and also working out on number of other schemes, which would be beneficial for the legal fraternity. The bar associations at district and sub-divisional level were also being supported by the bar council in different ways.”

Members of the district bar association extended a vote of thanks to Grewal.
