SIT takes sacrilege accused to crime spot

BATHINDA: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Bargadi, Faridkot, on Monday took the four arrested Dera followers to the crime spot at Gurusar village in Bhagta Bhaika in the district.

The special investigation team (SIT) probing the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Bargadi, Faridkot, on Monday took the four arrested Dera followers to the crime spot at Gurusar village in Bhagta Bhaika in the district.

As per information, SIT took Jatinderbir Arora alias Jimmy, Sukhmander Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Daljit Singh to the crime spot where the crime scene was recreated to bring out more details.

Bathinda Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Nanak Singh confirmed that SIT took four accused to the crime spot at Bhagta.

On October 20, around 157 pages of Guru Granth Sahib were found scattered at different places in the village and as per the police, these pages were of the same ‘Bir’ that was stolen from a gurdwara at Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village in Faridkot.

In June 2016, an incident of Gutka Sahib sacrilege was reported at Bhagta Bhaika.

A few days ago, SIT had arrested Jatinderbir Arora alias Jimmy from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. After his interrogation, the police had arrested other accused Sukhmander, Kuldeep and Daljit Singh of Bhagta Bhaika in the incident.
