Athletes from all across the state delivered emphatic performances in various sports on the second day of Punjab State Women Games.
Manpreet Kaur of Jalandhar bagged gold in javelin throw with a distance of 42.96m, Saroj Devi of Patiala won silver with 34.30m, whereas Komalpreet Kaur of Amritasr got bronze with 25.10m.
Vipanjit Kaur of Ludhiana became the fastest athlete in the state-level games by clocking 100m in 12.23 seconds, Avneet Kaur of Jalandhar had to suffice herself with silver by clocking the distance in 12.84 seconds and Kamaljit Kaur of Sangrur got bronze with 13.12 seconds.
Pooja Kumari of Hoshiarpur bagged gold in 3000m with a timing of 11:19.88s, Priyanka of Roopnagar won silver (11:20.38s) whereas Mandeep Kaur of Bathinda got bronze (11:38.95s). In 800 meters finals Gug Kaur of Hoshiarpur won gold with 2:24.91s, Anamika of Hoshiarpur won silver with 2:31.82s and Simarjit Kaur of Bathinda got bronze with 2:33.84s.
Games such as basketball, handball, football, kabaddi (circle and national styles), volleyball, hockey, kho-kho, swimming and weightlifting were also part of the event.
