Two persons have been booked for allegedly duping a 22-year-old Mani Majra resident of Rs 27 lakh on the pretext of providing him admission to the MBBS course in 2016.

According to the police, complainant Rahul Kaundal, a resident of Modern Housing Complex (MHC), reported that he came in contact with the two suspects, Ajay Vinod Kumar and Arun Prashant Singh, in 2016.

They assured the victim that he would get admission to MBBS through NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test).

The victim, in his complaint to the police, stated that the suspects convinced him to pay Rs 27 lakh following which the money was transferred to different bank accounts as per the demand of the suspects in July, August and September 2016.

The suspects then demanded more money from the victim, which he refused to pay.

The police said the victim neither got admission to MBBS nor was his money refunded by the suspects.

The victim approached the police following which a case under Sections 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the suspects at the Mani Majra police station.
