Panchkula, January 24

Three employees of a food outlet in Sector 20 here, including a guard, have been booked for rioting following a brawl with five youths on the night intervening Tuesday and Wednesday.

In a complaint to the police, Ashutosh Pratap Singh of Pinjore said he, along with his friends Shivam Kaushik of Ludhiana, Vishwajeet Singh of Kurukshetra, Anshuman Rana of Karnal and Dhruv Gupta of Panchkula, had returned from Chandigarh and ordered food at an eating joint in Sector 20.

He said they had an altercation with the employees of the outlet. “The employees abused and attacked us with sticks and bats. Anshuman was grievously injured. We got his head bandaged from a hospital and returned to the Sector 20 market where we rang up the PCR. Before cops arrived, some 10-12 boys from the eatery came and attacked us with sticks. The restaurant guard also opened fire,” he alleged. Ashutosh claimed that he was hit on the head with an iron rod. Anshuman and Vishwajeet were also beaten up, he said.

A case has been registered against Anish, Vishal and the security guard under the IPC and the Arms Act.
