Mohali, March 4

Two unidentified youths allegedly snatched a gold chain of a woman in Sector 68, Mohali, in broad daylight today.

Jasbir Singh, husband of victim Baljeet Kaur, in a complaint to the police, said she and her sister Jarnail Kaur were returning home from the Sector 68 market around 12 when the snatchers, wearing helmets and waiting on motorcycles, snatched her chain, valued around Rs1 lakh, and sped away.

She said some passersby tried to chase the motorcyclists after she raised the alarm, but the snatchers managed to escape.
