Six-year-old Prabaljeet, who had sustained burn injuries, died while undergoing treatment at the PGI, while the condition of his sister Bhawika (4) is stated to be serious.

A 35-year-old man had allegedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze. He also set his two minor children on fire at Subhash Gali in Ambala City on Monday night before taking the extreme step.

The investigating officer and in-charge of the police post number 1, Balbir Singh, said, “The boy succumbed to his burn injuries at the PGI last night and the condition of the minor girl is serious. The postmortem of the boy has been done.”

A family dispute is stated to be the reason behind the extreme step.
