Cast vote, get 15% discount in hotels

CHANDIGARH: Hotel owners will offer a minimum discount of 15 per cent to every voter who shows the indelible ink mark.

Chandigarh, March 26

Hotel owners will offer a minimum discount of 15 per cent to every voter who shows the indelible ink mark.

The discount will be offered from May 19, the voting day, till May 25 at all eateries. Other special incentives specific to different hotels and eating joints will also be offered.

The decision was taken at a meeting held by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Electoral Officer Mandip Singh with hotel owners. As part of the ongoing SVEEP programme, the DC today launched the banner of an awareness campaign initiated by restaurant and hotel owners for the elections. Carrying the message "Eat Pure, Vote for Sure", the objective of the campaign is to maximise voter registration and turnout during the elections.

This message will be displayed on banners and standees at all leading hotels and eateries as well as stamped on their bills and other receipts so that the importance of becoming a voter and exercising the right to vote gets conveyed to each visitor. — TNS
