Chandigarh Police nab woman for house thefts

Chandigarh, July 27

The UT police have arrested a 26-year-old woman for house thefts. They claimed to have solved two cases with her arrest.

The accused, identified as Kajal, alias Batheri, a resident of Sector 25 colony, was arrested by a team of the Sector 11 police station.

In a case registered on June 11, complainant Raju Sharma had reported that he came to the house of a Kulwant Kalsan, who was undergoing treatment in Ambala, and found that an unknown person had stolen a gas stove, an LED and other belongings from Kalsan’s house in Sector 11.

In another case, complainant Rajnish Tandon of Sector 15 had reported that on June 29 his caretaker Raj Kumar informed him that someone has broken the lock of his house and stolen a TV, utensils, sanitary ware, taps and a sink from the house.

The police have recovered an LED, an LCD and other household goods from her possession.

The woman was produced in a court, which sent her to judicial custody.
