Chandigarh, April 13

An unknown person stole a woman’s purse containing a mobile phone and a debit card from a nightclub and later withdrew Rs. 1.26 lakh through the debit card.

According to the police, the complainant, Uma Yadav (38), who is a medical officer at a government hospital in Rewari, Haryana, reported that on March 17, she, along with her friend, had gone to a club, named Culture, in Sector 26.

While leaving the club, she noticed that her purse was missing. The victim later checked the bank statement and found Rs. 1.26 lakh was withdrawn from her bank account on March 18 and 19.

The police were informed and a case under Sections 380 and 120-B of the IPC registered at the Sector 26 police station. The matter is being investigated by the cyber crime investigation cell.
