Chandigarh, July 13

Under the “Greening Chandigarh Action Plan 2022-23”, the UT Administration has set a target to plant 1.75 lakh saplings in a phased manner.

To sensitise people on importance of tree plantation, Van Mahotsav-2022 was launched at the site of Colony number 4, Industrial Area, Phase I, today. UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit flagged off vehicles for free distribution of saplings on the doorsteps of city residents.

Purohit planted a ‘Rudraksh’ plant at the Amrut Van, inaugurating the month-long MAGIC (Mega Afforestation and Greening Initiative in Chandigarh) Mela.
