Defence experts dwell upon indigenisation avenues

CHANDIGARH: A national-level nodal technology centre (NTC) symposium to explore avenues in indigenisation in the aerospace sector and encourage the industry to participate in research and development as well as production of components required by the armed forces was organised at No.3 Base Repair Deport (3BRD) on Friday.

A national-level nodal technology centre (NTC) symposium to explore avenues in indigenisation in the aerospace sector and encourage the industry to participate in research and development as well as production of components required by the armed forces was organised at No.3 Base Repair Deport (3BRD) on Friday.

A large number of senior officials and domain experts from the Ministry of Defence, Air Headquarters, Maintenance Command, Army Headquarters, Naval Headquarters, Defence Research and Development Organisation, academia and the industry participated in the event.

Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Maintenance Command, Air Marshal RKS Shera, who was the chief guest on the occasion, emphasised the need of continuous efforts at indigenisation for India to be a self reliant nation. — TNS
