Independence Day: Mohali police step up vigil in district

The police have stepped up vigil in view of the Independence Day celebrations in Mohali district. Dera Bassi DSP Manoj Gorsi led a flag march by the police today. Dera Bassi SHO Jatin Kapoor and Lalru SHO Bhinder Singh took part in the flag march.

The flag march, which passed through bus stand, was taken out on the Barwala road and the Ring Road.

Gorsi said the checking of vehicles entering the city was going on. The police are also checking people staying in hotels, PGs, guest houses and dharamsalas. He appealed to the people of the city to report any suspicious person to the police immediately.

In Mohali, too, the police were seen patrolling the roads in the afternoon.
