BENGALURU:The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) thumped Army XI 5-0 to lift the Bangalore Cup All India Hockey Tournament here today.

The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) thumped Army XI 5-0 to lift the Bangalore Cup All India Hockey Tournament here today. 

Sumit Kumar (20th minute), Gurjinder Singh (24th), Yuvraj Walmiki (35th), Dharamvir Singh (37th) and Talwinder Singh (52nd) scored for the winners. 

It was IOCL’s second title in a fortnight. They had earlier won the Bangalore Super Division. IOCL walked away with the cash bounty of Rs 4,00,000, while runners-up Army XI were awarded Rs 2,00,000. IOCL’s Affan Yousaf was named the best player of the tournament, fellow striker Talwinder Singh (seven goals) was the highest scorer. — PTI
