Kalka colony declared containment zone

Panchkula, May 30

The District Magistrate today declared an area in Kailash Heights in Kalka a containment zone and its periphery a buffer zone. A couple from the area had tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.

Civil Surgeon Jasjeet Kaur said, “The couple belongs to Ahmedabad and had come to Kalka to condole a death in their family. We have collected samples of their 41 contacts.”

She said the two patients would not be included in the Panchkula Covid tally as they were from Ahmedabad. Hence, the district tally remains 26, with one active case, who is undergoing treatment at a Faridabad hospital. — TNS
