Patiala, March 18
The police have recovered over 9,000 narcotic tablets and arrested two suspects in separate cases during checking. A case against the suspects has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at different police stations.
In second incident, the police have arrested two suspects under relevant sections of the Excise Act after recovering illegal liquor from them.
In the third incident the police have booked a resident of Sherpura Panchdeva village in Bihar and recovered 6 kg of cannabis from him during checking near Midway Dhaba in Rajpura.
In the fourth incident the Sadar police in Rajpura have booked a resident of Ludhiana after recovering 4,000 narcotic tablets from him during checking near the railway crossing in Basantpura.
In the fifth incident the Julka police have also arrested a resident of Kheri Jatta village in Bhadson division of Patiala district and recovered 5,040 narcotic tablets from his possession during patrolling near Budhpur village of Patiala.
In the sixth incident the Julka police and Bhadson police arrested two persons and recovered 22 and 24 liquor bottles, respectively, from them.
The police said all the suspects were arrested during checking or patrolling and cases against them were registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Excise Act.
