Over 66K given polio drops in Mohali on Day 1

MOHALI:Over 66,000 children were administered polio drops on Day 1 of the three-day pulse polio drive in Mohali district today.

Over 66,000 children were administered polio drops on Day 1 of the three-day pulse polio drive in Mohali district today.

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra started the drive by administering polio drops to some children at a slum in Phase 6 here.

Giving information, Sapra said during the three-day drive, which would culminate on November 20, their target is to administer the drops to 1,47,170 children in the age group of 0 to 5 years.

Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said as many as 1,202 health teams, which had been constituted for the purpose, would visit door to door to achieve the target.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the arrangements made by the health authorities by visiting some of the areas, including Gharuan, Boothgarh and Dera Bassi.
