Phone snatcher chased, nabbed at GMCH-32

CHANDIGARH:A youth, who was escaping after snatching a mobile phone from a woman in Sector 32, was chased and nabbed by a security guard of the GMCH in Sector 32 here.

A youth, who was escaping after snatching a mobile phone from a woman in Sector 32, was chased and nabbed by a security guard of the GMCH in Sector 32 here.

Sources said the victim, identified as Diksha, a pedestrian, worked at AMRIT (affordable medicines and reliable implants for treatment) Pharmacy, at the GMCH.

The miscreant, who was also on foot, snatched her mobile phone near the serai building on the hospital complex. The victim raised the alarm, following which a security guard on duty, Sukhbir Singh, got alert and chased the snatcher. 

After chasing the miscreant for around 500 metres, he managed to nab him. The police were informed about the incident. Cops arrived at the spot and arrested the suspect.

A case has been registered at the Sector 34 police station.
