Chandigarh, February 1

UT Administrator and Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, who is also the chairman of the Society for Empowerment of Disadvantaged Talented Youth, distributed scholarships and certificates of appreciation worth Rs 20 lakh to 300 meritorious students from classes 8 and 10 from Punjab and Chandigarh.

The initiative aimed to recognise and support students from government schools who demonstrated exemplary academic performance.

At the scholarship distribution ceremony organised at Punjab Raj Bhavan, 200 students of class 8 received

Rs 5,000 each, while 100 students of class 10 received

Rs 10,000 each.

Addressing the gathering, Purohit emphasised the importance of education as a tool for empowerment and urged the recipients to continue to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.
