CHANDIGARH:Chandigarh beat Himachal Pradesh 4-1 in the 71st North Zone Santosh Trophy Football tournament at Maharaja Laxman Sen Memorial College in Sundernagar.

Chandigarh beat Himachal Pradesh 4-1 in the 71st North Zone Santosh Trophy Football tournament at Maharaja Laxman Sen Memorial College in Sundernagar.

Tenzing scored the first goal for the hosts but Chandigarh reeled in four goals one after another to pocket the match. Jatinder (49 min), Girik (56 min, 84 min) and Amandeep scored (89 min) goals for the winning team. Uttar Pradesh beat Delhi 1-0 in another match. Sanyog Yadav scored the solitary goal for the winning team. As many as eight teams from the north zone are taking part in the tournament. — TNS
